Davin Goes Crazy for Bubbles

Davin was really excited about playing with bubbles the other night.  Please ignore the crazy mommy with the swim cap in this video.  Not sure why she is wearing that silly hat.  :-)

Perryn Shows Off His Martial Arts Skills

Martial Arts

Perryn just started martial arts classes with a couple of his friends.  He's been to 3 classes so far. He seems to like it and enjoys being with his friends.

A conversation I just overheard:

Gary:  "Do you know how the belts work?"

Perryn:  "Yes"

Gary:  "You do, how do they work?"

Perryn:  "They hold your pants up"

Perryn Tells Jokes

Perryn has been really in to telling us jokes lately.  He tries to make them up himself and he doesn't quite get how to do that, but it is funny when he tries and then says "is that funny?".

Here are a couple that he did not make up. 

First Pony Ride

We had a great Father's Day weekend!  It started out with a birthday party for one of my mommy friend's kiddo who was turning two.  The party was at a ranch in McKinney and we liked it so much, we're thinking of having Davin's party there in the fall.   Here's a video of Perryn on his first pony ride:

There was also a petting zoo and they got to feed the animals. 

On Sunday, we took the kids to Hurricane Harbor.  Perryn had a blast!  Davin wasn't too excited about all the spraying water in the kid's area.  There was a very large bucket that dumped out periodically that seemed to scare him also.  He liked the lazy river and the wave pool though, so it wasn't a total loss. 

Sunday evening, we had tickets to a baseball game, but it was raining when we got there, so we headed over to Dave & Buster's instead and had dinner and then played some games downstairs.  Both kids enjoyed the games. 

Fun times!!

Trip to the Zoo

We decided to take a trip to the Zoo on our long weekend. The weather wasn't too bad, but a couple more degrees probably would have been the limit. The Fort Worth zoo is well designed with lots of shade though, so that certainly helped. Although Perryn almost always walks, I thought it might be a little too much walking for him, so we brought our bike trailer/jogging stroller so they could both ride in it.

The first exhibit is the gorillas and other primates. One gorilla was nice enough to be sitting right by the window, so that was fun to get a close up look.

In the end, Gary asked Perryn what his favorite part was and in response Perryn listed almost everything we saw, so I think it was a fun time for him and a successful family outing.  Davin didn't even nap until we got in the car at around 3p, so he was a real trooper (and wasn't crabby either).    

Too much of a good thing, apparently.

Transcript of a conversation I had tonight.

Me: I've got two surprises for you. Surprise number one is: We're going out to eat at McDonald's.
Perryn: Yaaaaay!
Me: Surprise number two is: Grandma's coming with us.
Perryn: Yaaaaay!
Me: But there's some bad news, too. Mommy's not coming with us.
Perryn: That's ok. I didn't want mommy to come with us.
Me (surprised by his response, but trying to be nonchalant): Oh? Why not?
Perryn: Weeeell, I love her, but I don't want to have dinner with her every night.

I know it's been too long since I posted anything. I was pretty excited to capture this moment on video, so I was motivated to get it posted right away, especially since Daddy missed it. You can tell from my excitement and comments that this was the first time he pulled up.

Perryn's Swim Lesson

This was Perryn's last lesson of 8 that he has taken so far. We don't have any lessons in June and then we will start again in July with a lady that lives near us. He did pretty well, with these lessons so far.
